What you will learn

​​

  • fully explore the grammar and vocabulary in the texts from practice tests and coursebooks;
  • fully explore the grammar and vocabulary from pieces of authentic material;
  • connect the grammar in the texts provided by Cambridge and pieces of authentic material to the grammar reference in coursebooks;
  • predict how grammar and vocabulary will be tested in the Reading and Use of English paper;
  • design your own grammar and vocabulary exercises. 
  • understand what flexible use of the language is (and apply it to the writing paper).

​Dynamics of the course

​

Different from most courses focused on exams, in this course, students will be assigned exam tasks to work on prior to class (the tasks will be sent 1 week before the lesson; ideally, students should work on it before the class, although they can still follow the lesson in case they happen not to have time to work in advance). Whether they've got the wrong or right answers, the goal of the lesson is to deconstruct the entire exercise in order to explore the grammar and vocabulary in it.

Every other lesson will focus on a piece of authentic material, aiming to build on the previous session.
​

Course format

​​

  • From 4 to 8 participants

  • Tuesdays 3pm-4:15pm BRT (GMT-3)

  • 10 weeks | 12,5 hours: from February 4th to April 15th, 2025.

  • Access to the recording and materials used in class will be available on Google Classroom until the ​end of the course.

​

The time zone in Brazil is GMT-3. Make sure to consider the daylight saving policy in your own country. There is no daylight saving in Brazil.
