​Dynamics of the course

​​

This is a course for teachers who want to refine their command of English and explore how language really works. It’s designed around authentic texts and real use, where lexis, grammar, and meaning are seen not as separate systems, but as interdependent layers of expression.

The course follows a flipped format: participants engage with input and short analytical tasks before each lesson, so that class time can be fully devoted to reflection, discussion, and emergent language. This structure allows us to make the most of our live sessions, working with what actually emerges, not what’s been pre-taught.

The first part of the course is devoted to language awareness: reading, analysing, and noticing how proficient users of English achieve clarity, nuance, and precision. The second part is where this awareness becomes practice: participants move from analysis to production, actively creating written language that reflects the patterns, choices, and subtleties explored earlier.

Lessons are conversation-driven, guided by Dogme ELT principles and the lexical approach. Instead of following a fixed syllabus, we let the language that arises from texts and discussions shape the journey.

Note: Brazil currently does not observe daylight saving time. Therefore, all class times refer to Brasília Time (BRT), and it is the responsibility of the clients residing abroad to adjust to the teacher’s time zone.
